Before coming to Jenrick I worked for a well know shoe company.
I knew selling shoes wasn’t for me. I am a very organised, social person and wanted to use my best skills to become an administrator. I have always wanted to work in this industry and was very lucky to be offered this great role by Julie.
I heard about Jenrick through word of mouth. I heard it was an excellent company to work for so after researching the company numerous times I knew it was a place I’d love to start my career in admin.
When researching Jenrick and seeing the amazing outcome it had I was really attracted to the company. When I heard they won the Times Top 100 Companies to Work For and the 50 years it has been successful I knew it would be an exciting place to work.
I currently work as a Branch Administrator in Derby. This is my first time in an admin role and I’m really enjoying it. The team are very professional but fun at the same time. They have taught me so much in the short time of me being here. I can already see a great future ahead.
Outside of work I spend a lot of time with my friends and family as this is important to me. I try and go on holiday as much as I can each year as I love visiting new places and sight seeing. I would say I’m quite a social person, I go to the gym and aim to attend as many festivals and events as possible.
The Jenrick Group is regarded as one of the leading recruitment companies within the UK and is a four time "Sunday Times Top 100 Company to Work For".
I know that it may sound cliché, but recruitment really is my passion. I have worked in Engineering Recruitment since 1993 and always strive to be known for providing quality recruitment solutions. In an industry where reputation is foremost, I have aimed to maintain a high-quality, honest-service approach throughout all of my roles.
In 2000 I was approached to join the Simon Holdings Group, with a view to extending their Technical Recruitment presence into the Midlands, thereby complementing the progress of their Jenrick Engineering brand in the South since 1967.
It's great to be back in the office!
But things have changed. There are little differences around the building and a few new rules too!
2018 wasn’t a particularly straightforward year, there were many factors such as Brexit - big political decisions that came with that and on top of that the media were forecasting a slowdown of UK GDP growth. All this gave the feeling of doom and gloom. Thankfully due to the great British resolve, for the most part, these factors were sidelined by businesses with the attitude of ‘We just need to get on with it, irrespective’. For us as a business it did really feel like business as usual, just with a side of caution.
