Our client in an international data and analytics provider, working to uncover deeper information, serving unique insights that help the industries and markets driving global economies.

This role will centre on bridging the gap between the engineering and senior leadership teams and driving innovation across the re-structuring and re-architecting of a cloud-based platform in the transformation and modernisation phase of its life cycle. Working closely with engineers and product designers, you will improve coordination between various stakeholders and contributors including DevOps and QA. Technical with leadership experience you will be as comfortable coding as you are leading design sessions.

Role Description
  • Assist the Development Manager in defining the strategic architecture for Financial Services Group.
  • Facilitate system design and changes in system architecture to meet industry standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments.
  • Focus on cloud enablement to increase ROI and create new business opportunities.
  • Track analyse and monitor technology performance metrics of managed products.
  • Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity.
  • Mentor team on technology and other work-related aspects.
  • Responsibility for quality of all deployed applications and services.
  • Drive innovation and adaption of best practices.
Professional Experience Required
  • Significant hands-on experience building enterprise software or platforms in a financial environment.
  • At least 10+ years of experience leading technology teams.
  • Excellent front-end and backend architectural design skills.
  • Expert on DBMS technologies (RMDBS, NoSQL, etc)
  • Ability to deliver products in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong background on leveraging cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply architectural patterns.
  • Deep and practical understanding of modern distributed architecture design.
  • Focus on Microsoft stack, but knowledgeable on cross-platform tech.
Personal Requirements
  • Displays energy, drive and stamina.
  • Thought leader with focus on delivery.
  • Analytical and can work with business stakeholders daily.
  • Comfortable working with global teams operating across different time zones
  • Experience in financial software development is preferable.
This role is hybrid and mostly remote at this time but will require some time spent in Manchester office. The salary range is £100,000 - £130,000 depending on experience and capability.
