IT Support Analyst

We are working with an exciting biotech company focused on the discovery and development of novel targeted medicines. 

The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated IT Support Analyst to join the in-house IT team at providing on-site and remote support to the business. The successful applicant will bring their knowledge and experience to help the business accelerate the adoption of new collaboration solutions, implement new IT security tools and Group Policies. Previous experience of Microsoft365 and Oracle/SLQ based technologies would be an advantage as these are prevalent and key to the ongoing IT Strategy.

Responsibilities include:
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing computer hardware and software issues
  • Supporting the implementation and extension of SharePoint online – and supporting the migration from file-shares to SharePoint
  • Supporting the adoption of Microsoft Teams – supporting users in both technical and ‘how do I’ queries
  • Helping implement improved security technologies and policies
  • Application support and upgrades – including becoming a competent administrator on the Dotmatics system which is core to the business
  • Undertaking Windows Server configuration and upgrades, alongside VMWare support and configuration
  • Maintaining records of hardware, software, and licenses to ensure good configuration management and licence compliance
  • Providing a secure and reliable electronic environment through the implementation, configuration and monitoring of suitable tools
  • Liaising with 3rd Party support and service providers as needed
  • Building the company’s technical capabilities and helping to accelerate the delivery of project milestones.
  • Being able to prioritise your own workload effectively and systematically troubleshoot IT problems.
  • Adhering to all company safety procedures.
The successful candidate will:
  • Minimum of 3 years IT Technical & Support Experience
  • Be in possession of one or more relevant Microsoft Certifications
  • Have demonstrable experienced of the following technologies:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019
    • Azure Active Directory
    • Microsoft Office 365 Support
    • SharePoint Online
    • Oracle, SQL database
    • IT Security and Antivirus Applications
    • VMWare System Support
  • Be able to show flexibility and adaptability, working as part of a small team to directly support the business and scientific teams
  • Show excellent understanding of IT and troubleshooting techniques which help identify and rapidly resolve issues
  • Actively seek feedback from the business to identify where technology could be better used, or used differently, to help the user community
