Our Client is a successful, family feel plastics manufacturer based in the Droitwich area. An opportunity has arisen within the tooling department to develop prototype mould tooling for the early stages of manufacture.
The Role
Working in a team of 2 and reporting to the Engineering Manager you will perform a hands-on role using skills in carpentry and plumbing to create prototype mould tooling (primarily wooden) and finishing of sample products utilising a variety of hand-tools.
Duties will include:-
 - Manufacture of assembly jigs and checking fixtures - usually made from wood
 - Prototype part trimming of plastic components using pneumatic hand tools
 - Repair/modification of mould tooling:-
       - Fettling of features
       - Pipe replacement
       - Resin rebuilds
 - Provide lead times for tooling work and feedback to engineering
The Candidate:-
 - Must be able to work on own initiative and have the ability to manage multiple tasks.
 - Experience preferred of working within a tooling environment.
 - Must be good with your hands and hand-tools but the specifcs of creating wooden tooling can be trained.
 - A preferance would be experience with workshop equipment table saws, pillar drills, grinders etc.
 - Reading engineering drawings desired although not essential as training can be given
This role may suit candidates wit the previous title of: Pattern maker, Tooling Operative, Tooling Technician, Prototype Technician, Prototype Engineer, Mould Technician
£20 - £23k + Overtime
Contributory Pension  
Holidays 25 + Bank Hols
40 hour working week
