New job vacancies in the City rose by 15 per cent last month to the highest level this year, according to a financial recruitment specialist, Morgan McKinley. New job opportunities rose to 4,410 last month compared with 3,843 in September, Morgan McKinley said. The October figure was still 19 per cent below the equivalent level a year ago, but that drop was the smallest seen for 16 months. The company added that the number of financial services professionals who began their search for a fresh role last month was up 6 per cent compared with September, although the annual comparison showed there were still 23 per cent fewer candidates registering than in October 2008.
