A fast expanding and award winning consultancy is looking to engage the services of a Solutions Architect to deliver a programme for a major government department.

You will need to be able to obtain security clearance, so will need to have the following - UK passport, UK resident for at least 5 years and no criminal record etc.

Skills required:
  • Good working knowledge of open source and open standards
  • Good understanding of architectural concepts, methodologies and approaches.
  • Strong hands on background - excellent experience with JEE, Java, Web Services, REST.
  • Good knowledge of architecture, design patterns and UML.
  • Good knowledge of IAAS, PAAS, SAAS and knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS
  • Experience of dealing with vendors and understanding the various vendor solutions
  • Knowledge of traditional and Agile delivery methods
  • Knowledge of common integration techniques and approaches.
  • Ability to manage developers.
  • Drive to further your skillet and lead in the application domain.
 Key responsibilities:
  • Define the architecture for a high profile, public facing, government digital service.
  • Define the architectural roadmap for the project.
  • Investigate and thoroughly understand the current live applications and systems
  • Capture and interpret input from technical and domain specialists – translating this information to stakeholders, as required.
  • Engage with stakeholders and ensure the architecture meets the system quality attributes
  • Provide architectural and technical leadership.
  • Define and document strategies, standards and guidelines to direct the build and deployment of the system.
 
You will be one of the key architectural leaders and you will be expected to be able to perform leadership duties, ensuring standards are maintained.
