Contract BI Data Analyst required to work for a leading analytics company in London, within a Business Intelligence team, of a global digital solutions department.

This is an initial 3 month contract.

The BI team are responsible for managing the data ecosystem of the group and providing tools and technology to deliver insights to the global businesses.

In this role you will manage data flows between business systems and the data warehouse, extend scope and coverage of the warehouse to service new projects as well as ad-hoc business needs. You will use established standards, tools and best practices to translate business needs into data solutions by working closely with internal / external development teams and system integration partners. 

Responsibilities -

* Analyse business requirements, identify data sources and document ETL rules for processing structured / unstructured data into the data warehouse.
* Document data flows and mappings between source and target systems.
* Establish and enforce data quality and governance procedures using established tools and methodologies.
* Work with Business Analyst, Data Architect and on shore / off shore developers to design, build and deliver end to end data solutions.
* Validate data processing changes, flag and follow up issues found, sign off development work and oversee implementation.
* Assess impact of new business requests on existing data landscape.
* Work with end users to analyst and deliver ad-hoc and reporting requests.

Required skills and experience -

* Degree level education or relevant experience and skills.
* Extensive experience in using data analysis / ETL tools and processes.
* Hands on experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, MS Access) and SQL.
* Full software life cycle development exposure within BI space.
* Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, ETL tools and processes, Data analysis and modelling tools and reporting and BI tools.
* Any experience with SDLC delivery tools such as JIRA would be highly advantageous.
* Exposure to Qlikview data discovery and or visualisation tools would be advantageous also.
