Are you an experienced Quality Test and Inspection Engineer looking for a challenging role?  Would you like to take ownership of a test room and make it your own? This role is based in Telford and my client are looking for someone who is Apprentice trained, ideally with experience of testing and inspecting pumps or rotating equipment alongside all the relevant quality systems and processes.  Customer facing experience would be advantageous. Offering a salary of £35K + Pension + Holidays + Benefits

The Role:
  • Reporting into the Service Business Manager
  • Testing and inspecting all products repaired and re-manufactured by the workshop
  • This role involves quality related tasks including warrant processes
  • Improve test processes and add value through operational improvements
  • Write detailed reports on the results of testing and other observations
  • Conduct equipment testing
  • Identifying faults during tests
  • Offering technical assistance to customers regarding test procedures and results
  • Leading warranty assessments, writing technical reports and being confident in the delivery to the customer
  • Failure trend analysis including support with the identification of root causes
  • Corrective and preventive action to reduce failures and increase efficiency
  • Taking care of physical and digital test and inspection documentation
The Person:
  • Apprentice Trained Engineer with Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
  • Electrical knowledge – 3 phase and single phase
  • Some Quality Engineering knowledge
  • Customer Facing experience
  • Experience of Pumps and / or rotating equipment is an advantage
  • Knowledge of quality systems and processes – statistical process control, root cause, FMEA, Gauge R&R
  • Technical report writing experience
  • Use of various measuring equipment
  • Able to understand technical dimensional and schematic drawings to verify with product reality
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self motivation and team working
