Are you an experienced Engineering Buyer looking to join a well established manufacturing company based in Castle Donington.  My Client are a SME, looking for a Buyer with experience of working within a similar background, buying engineering equipment, liaising with suppliers and negotiating best prices. Offering a salary of £30-35K + Holidays + Pension + Flexi time

As an Engineering Buyer your role will involve:
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager whilst working alongside a Purchasing Administrator
  • Ensuring all product buying is in line with the production plan, focusing on inventory levels, lead times, quality material cost and delivery performance
  • Building and sustaining effective relationships internally and externally
  • Working closely with Purchasing, Planning and stores team in the forecasting, monitoring and management of stock levels across all materials in line with the production plan
  • Reporting any supply concerns promptly to ensure nothing impacts the projects
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure on time delivery
  • Create and negotiate supplier agreements

As an Engineering Buyer, you will have the following experience:
  • Experienced Engineering Buyer from an SME or Engineering Manufacturing organisation
  • Experience of purchasing various engineering equipment including sheet metal, nuts and bolts etc
  • CIPS qualification is desirable
  • Experience of working within a busy environment, sourcing materials involved within a manufacturing process
  • MRP system knowledge
  • Good understanding of technical parts within a manufacturing process
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Confident and assertive
  • Ability to react to changes in a calm and composed manner

2018 wasn’t a particularly straightforward year, there were many factors such as Brexit - big political decisions that came with that and on top of that the media were forecasting a slowdown of UK GDP growth. All this gave the feeling of doom and gloom. Jenrick Engineering Burton have enjoyed an extremely busy start to the year – with the amount of available jobs up by  23%, and an increase of new clients up by 10% for the same period of 2017.
