This is such a varied role and offers so much opportunity for the right person! This is an initial 6 month contract but if you excel within the role it has a very strong possibility to go permanent.

 

 This is a really important position within the company; you will work closely with the Finance Director in supporting the Research Management team. You will coordinate with internal and external partners, increase research productivity through process standardization, facilitate communication, and provide general logistical support for the research team. The role will be part of Research Operations, a dedicated team shaping and running processes to enable the success of Research.

 

The ideal candidate will be:
  • Highly professional with experience working in a corporate environment
  • Can work on your own initiative and keep calm under pressure
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Be good with numbers – you will be assisting with contracts and procurement so you need to feel comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets
  • Attention to detail and process oriented
  • Enthusiastic and able to work in a team
  • Experience in automating and/or improving business processes
  • Some knowledge of budgeting and finance would be an advantage
 

What will I be accountable for?

Events and Meetings support
  • Planning of Global multi site Quarterly Programme and Strategy Reviews. (No travel required)
  • Liaising and organising internal and external research speakers
  • Assist with visiting partners in the commercial, government, and academic realms
  • Arranging and organising onsite and offsite meetings for all of Research
  • Planning ahead for scheduled meetings and ensuring adequate rooms are booked (on and offsite)
  • Supporting with logistics as required (skype for business/webex)
 

Site support
  • Assist with all general site issues to ensure a smooth Research working environment. This will mainly include liaising with IT, facilities and property team
  • Co-ordinate the organisation of team building activities and social events.
  • General support to Cambridge Research
 

Assist in recruitment of new hires including:
  • Organising interviews, liaising with hiring managers and talent acquisition
  • Ensuring a smooth new starter process for on-boarding
  • Create and coordinate a Research induction programme
  • Point of contact for Interns throughout their placement
 

Other responsibilities:
  • General purchasing and contract negotiation for the Research department
