As part of this small and fast growing Online Market Maker based in central London, the Node.JS Developer will play an integral part in the development & enhancement of their mission critical online platform, working with the CTO, market feedback & customer interactions to decide improvements & expansion priorities.

Having delivered a hugely successful & well received shakeup in their market, this exciting Start Up needs to grow their technical development team and this Node.JS Developer will be their first addition to enable the business to continue product development through writing, testing and supporting their code and platform.

With a minimum of 1 years experience, the Node.js Developer will be joining a fun, fast paced environment with a great group of people dedicated to the company’s long term success. The environment is agile using Node.js, MySQL, ElasticSearch and AWS to deliver features for their platform which is used by their online customers every day. 

As you would expect within this Start Up environment, sometimes it’s all hands to the pump to make it happen and working with ambiguity will be part of your daily DNA. Specific duties reserved for the Node.JS Developer though include:
  • Design, build and test of technical solutions
  • Estimating time and effort to develop solutions
  • Leading the development of robust and well-tested code, reviewing and debugging existing code base
  • Maintaining existing systems and applications, troubleshooting software application issues
  • Work with colleagues on the new ideas and offerings
  • Work with Customers on understanding their business requirements and translating these into & system requirements
  • Creating documentation of the systems developed
In addition to having excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and stay focused under pressure, the Developer should have:
  • Knowledge of web applications, mark-up languages and web layouts
  • Experience of developing APIs
  • Knowledge of JavaScript (including ES6)
  • Experience with modern software workflows (GIT, CI)
Beneficial Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, SASS, Webpack/Gulp, KnexJS, AdonisJS, PM2
  • Good knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services)
