Finance Business Partner – Projects, is required for a very well know leading online marketplace business who have over 450 million visitors to the website each moth.

Due to business expansion a Finance Business Partner is required to be part of the bigger finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract.  Using your extensive accounting knowledge you’ll work alongside product managers and software engineers to achieve deliverables on commercial projects.

Projects range from managing inbound payments infrastructure solutions to scoping and negotiating contracts on the outbound payment infrastructure and everything in-between.

You’ll be involved from the outset in a multitude of projects from discussing design and concept of an idea, through to working with the finance team to model out commercial viability, develop the required financial reporting solutions, negotiating the contractual agreements with third party vendors and then working with a range of internal teams such as product and engineering to deliver the project on time and on budget

Duties as Finance Business Partner – Projects:

Help shape and deliver the vision for Supplier / Consumer payments within a marketplace model and alongside this, design all of the backend financial reporting and operational improvements that are required along the way; 

Work on payment related infrastructure projects – specifically focusing on inbound payments from consumers and outbound payments to suppliers;

Support the rollout of a new financial reporting system, which is currently ‘in build’. Strong accounting skills are essential here as we look to test a variety of balance sheet and P&L postings and ensure each behaves in the way it is expected;

Work on treasury related projects to mitigate and manage FX exposure in this global business;

Project manage the delivery and implementation of your product solutions, managing your assigned engineering resources and tracking the effectiveness and success of the final deliverables.

Your background as Finance Business Partner – Projects:
 
  • Qualified accountant with experience of working on commercial projects and experience of financial systems
  • Appetite to learn new systems and processes and thrive in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
  • Possess excellent communication and listening skills, together with strong questioning and probing skills
  • Be able to multi-task, with excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail – experience of project management a significant plus;
  • Experience working in a marketplace business involved in high volume, low value transactional payments would be a plus but not essential
