As one of the most revered leaders in their industry, this technology led organisation is widely regarded as one of Britain’s global success stories. This is a fantastic opportunity to join them as a Data Lead – Finance Transformation.

The Finance Team is responsible for providing high quality financial information to senior management and the Group’s shareholder. We have a number of Finance teams globally with the main HQ in Cambridge. The global team is currently 140+ and still growing; responsibility for Procurement has added another dimension.

You will join a small but talented transformation team responsible to the CFO for delivering the transformation. You will work closely with the Information Management Steering Team (IMST) and the data team of Phoenix, the business wide transformation programme which is developing an operational roadmap and the platforms including SAP S/4 HANA to support it.

Your Data Lead role is key to ensure that our key transformational projects are underpinned by quality data. You will be a true Data Champion – you will create dashboards to get a feel for the current data quality and educate on how they can develop and deliver quick wins as well as long term strategy to ensure the very best data quality across the business stemming from Finance. You will be cleansing the current data – this is static data so you’re not moving it to a new ERP system yet – this is all about improving the quality and getting everyone on board and really selling the data story and improving current state.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
  • Unleash your expertise and enthusiasm to bring `data to life` within Finance.
  • Use your substantial experience in data management and transformation to assess where Finance is in respect of data maturity whilst developing a data operating model to deliver agreed maturity improvements
  • You will review the existing data standards/definitions prepared by the Finance Data Stewards and enhance as appropriate
  • Define with the project manager the tasks required to deliver the data transformation, identifying and delivering `quick wins`
  • Demonstrate delivery via a data KPI dashboard
  • Perform a deep dive in R2R looking at corrections made via journals etc. and define key projects required to improve data in Finance
  • Work closely with the Phoenix data and functional teams to design the `to be` data standards

What skills, experience and qualifications do you need?
  • You will have great understanding of the finance function and the data quality drivers within it
  • Substantial demonstrable experience of having driven data transformation with a finance function and across back office processes generally
  • Able to `bring data to life` and demystify this `complex area` so the senior finance team understand and buy into your approach
  • Engage the wider finance team and data stewards and align them with your thinking
  • You are comfortable working cross-functionally to build relationships and agree plans to correct data deficiencies at source

Managing Director

Having been in recruitment for 15 years, in 2006 I decided to form Jenrick Commercial (a new division of The Jenrick Group) and I have to say, it’s been one hell of a ride. Recruitment has changed drastically over the last 15 years, however, I’ve learnt that if you keep things simple, work hard, be honest and really understand your clients and candidates then you will do well.

My loves in life are my wife (Miriam) and my son (Toron). I’ve been married for nearly 20 years, so I was snapped up early (my wife clearly has good taste – or at least I like to think so!).

Jenrick Commercial - From strength to strength

2017 was our busiest year since we started trading over 11 years ago.  However, as the business has grown our levels of service to our clients and candidates has been maintained at the highest levels. Jumping back to 2016 when we closed on a record year when, we thought the market had peaked – 2017 only went and continued in the same fashion and superseded our expectations. We saw our business increase by 153% from 2016. The experience we have gained through these busy times has set us apart from a lot of other companies which is why we retain the vast majority of our clients and see candidates making us the first choice to help them find exceptional jobs.
