Are you someone who really enjoys meeting people and enthusing them so that you generate their interest?  As Apprenticeships Manager, your role will be to help a world-leading university, expand its number and range of apprenticeships by building upon their current provision.  This is a varied role and flexibility is key.

You will build excellent working relationships with key contacts in their academic and support services departments in order to help identify opportunities for possible apprenticeships through the recruitment of new staff, or converting existing staff training into apprenticeships.  Additionally, you will have responsibility for coordinating their current Technician Apprenticeship Scheme.  As the ‘go to’ person for advice and guidance on all matters relating to apprenticeships at the College, you will have an up to date working knowledge of the apprenticeship levy and related regulation.

While a large focus of the role is to develop their apprenticeship activity, you will also be involved in other HR-related projects such as acting as a Committee Secretary and providing a wide range of support to facilitate the recruitment of new staff and preparing contracts of employment.  This will involve organising meetings and diary management, record keeping and assisting with financial transactions. 

Person Specifications:
  • Graduate Recruitment experience is required
  • Exposure to the Apprenticeships Levy is highly advantageous
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of dealing sensitively and diplomatically with people is required, as is experience of working as a team member. 
  • The ability to produce accurate work to a consistently high standard within tight deadlines is essential, together with a high standard of computer literacy, to include Excel.
