Special Needs School receives essential teaching resources
The pupils and staff at Chessington Special Needs School, St. Philips, are excited about ‘a whole new world of learning’ that has been opened to them due to the support of the Jenrick Group.
The school desperately wanted to install Schoolextranet.com, an online learning platform and specialist piece of secure Internet software, that would enable pupils to access work and valuable learning resources from any PC (at school or at home). This type of resource enables the pupils to work at a pace that suits them, and now means they can also work from home.
In addition, parents are now able to log-on and see what their children have been studying, and communicate more effectively with the teachers of the school – all within a safe and secure environment.
None of this would have been possible if not for the financial support of Jenrick as the school did not have any funding available to purchase and maintain the system.
ICT Teacher, Peter Chaddock, added:
“We cannot thank Jenrick enough for their support. They have opened up a whole new fun way of learning to our pupils. We can now benefit from all the Special Needs Learning Resources that are available through the Internet and give the children more fun within their learning. A big thank you to Jenrick from all the children, parents and staff of St. Phillips School.”
