The event was attended by in excess of 120 guests, made up from key clients and contractors of Jenrick CPI, to celebrate Jenrick’s success within the
Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For Awards.
Peter Jezeph, Managing Director of Jenrick CPI, began the evening by recognising the contribution of staff of Jenrick CPI, not only in helping to achieve
7th place in the Sunday Times Awards, but also within the on-going success of Jenrick CPI as a whole.
Ade McCormack, the Financial Times columnist, author and marketplace commentator, then gave his presentation on ‘What makes techies tick?’ – with the focus of helping to bridge the communication gap between technical and non-technical staff.
After a short break
Philip Fanthom, Sales Director for CPI, introduced the featured speaker for the evening –
Pen Hadow. As part of his introduction, Phil also highlighted the synergy between Pen’s approach to his tasks and that of CPI, relating it to the
Fish! Management Philosophy, utilised by Jenrick CPI.
For those unaware,
Pen Hadow shot to international fame in 2003 when, after fifteen years of unrelenting effort, he finally achieved his goal to become the first person to trek solo, and without outside assistance, from Canada to the North Geographic Pole (478 miles).
This feat has been compared to making the first solo ascent of Everest and without oxygen, and one that has not been repeated since.
Pen’s presentation communicated the emotional roller-coaster of his journey – not just in reaching the North Pole, but also the events leading up to this and finished by explaining the sheer relief he felt when he had reached his goal. For the first time he finally felt free.
Then briefly, Pen gave us an overview of the estimated climate change that we expect to experience over the next 20-50 years and why this has led him on his next adventure –
The Arctic Survey. He and his team will undertake the first ever exact measurement of the thickness of the Polar Ice Cap, and thus it’s lifespan as a permanent geological feature.
Over the coming months Jenrick CPI will continue developing its relationship with
Pen Hadow, commencing with
The Arctic Survey, and we will ensure you are kept fully up to date with all the developments.
In addition, we will also be reserving a number of signed copies of Pen’s best-selling book ‘Solo’ for clients of Jenrick CPI, when the new edition is released in September. To reserve yours, please email us at

Thank you again to everyone who attended our event and if anyone is interested in booking Pen for an event at their company, please call or email us and we will gladly assist you.
