Specialist IT recruitment consultancy Jenrick CPI is reporting a continued demand for IT professionals who have current security clearance. There is a special interest in people who hold SC or DV clearance. What is security clearance? Personnel security vetting is carried out so that people can work or carry out tasks, which in the course of doing so, requires national security clearance. Government organisations including the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces require Security Cleared personnel as well as Companies in the private sector contracted to undertake work for these bodies. Clearance levels vary depending upon the sensitivity of the information that is accessed. The skills demand is wide and varied at present, but the most sought after skills are:
Visual C++ (in depth), preferably in the Microsoft Development Environment; Oracle/SQL; Unix OS; Issue Tracking. Also Unix editor & ability to create makefiles, Dbs debugger, Networking (UDP, TCP/IP), Basic sonar, C# / ASP.Net / C++, MS SQL Server, an understanding of XML and IIS, Java Developers
Further details of all these and other roles are available from our SC & DV cleared IT Jobs Page - however, due to the nature of these assignments we are not permitted to publish full job details. Government, Defence and Security Recruitment Specialist, Miriam Lee, commented;
“….it’s hard to believe how busy we are at present. There seems to be an insatiable appetite amongst clients in the security cleared sector. Myself and the team literally can not find SC or DV cleared people fast enough to meet the demand...”
